In search of beauty...

Red Eft Designs is all about my artistic journey through (almost) every medium there is, from all the way back to 2005 when I had my first art show to the things I'm creating now. The Red Eft, my emblem, is the juvenile form of an amphibious newt, native to Western New York. It symbolizes my early formative years growing up and being educated in and around Buffalo, and how that has influenced my work and life. I've since moved to the deep forests of Oregon where there are no efts, only the mature newts, and where I am an artist with a life and family of my own.

Red Eft Designs is my Forest Aesthetic:
I have tried for years to ask myself what kind of artist am I? And now I finally know that I am a sculptor. Sculptress. It doesn't matter in what material, some things look best in copper, others in lightweight silk, still others in everlasting ceramic, but I find such joy in sculpting materials to the vision I see in my mind's eye. I have so many ideas and so few moments to bring them to life but I hope you enjoy my art so influenced by the nature of the forest that surrounds me and my life.
